Make your money count - Ethical Finance Conference - returns for it's third successful year.

We are delighted to welcome Catherine Howarth - CEO at Share Action as our key note speaker .

This year the conference will look at the power of money and will explore how it can facilitate more than just financial wealth.

Whether it is a pension pot, a bank account or personal investments; what are the systems that hold our money for us actually doing with it?

What is the function of money as an expression of our individual, community and organisational values?

How can factors like social justice, faith, or environmental concerns affect our choices ? What change do we want to see in the world and how can money help us achieve this.

You may choose to buy Fairtrade, reduce your carbon footprint or shop locally but how do the financial systems that underpin these decisions support or oppose your values ?

Join us for this one day conference which aims to cut through the hype and intelligently explore key issues around how we use and invest our money and give practical ideas that make a difference. Take a look behind the scenes and learn what happens to the money we entrust to others, how we can reclaim control of it and how the values, faiths and environmental concerns we align to our financial decisions can make money a force for positive change.

Be part of a movement to make your money count.

Workshop details

Workshop 1 :

What about faith in Finance! …Why not?"

An interactive workshop exploring ways in which faith can make a positive contribution to finance in the world today and towards the common good. The workshop will be led jointly by Dr Adel Ahmed Head of the Accounting and Finance Cluster as part of Liverpool Hope Business School (LHBS) and John Arnold, Executive Director of the Ecumenical Council for Corporate Responsibility (ECCR).

Join us to share experiences of keeping faith in finance, learn about ways in which we can engage in the debate about what ‘good’ money is, how we can use it and its potential for positive impact on society. Delegates will leave inspired and equipped to bring constructive change in the world through effective stewardship of financial resources.

Workshop 2 :

'Can charities campaign for a better world without tackling the financial system?"

led by Tom Owen - Triodos Bank and David Powell - Friends of the Earth

Workshop 3:

Funding a Fairer future

UK Pension funds contain nearly £3 trillion. That’s £3 trillion of our money that could be invested in a greener, safer future. But right now, much of it is tied up in risky fossil-fuel projects, which aren’t good for the planet or our pensions. Share Action and Christian Aid are excited to present the Green Light Campaign – together we can make sure that pension funds use our money to build the future we want to see. Come and find out how your pension has the power to change the world.

Led by Share Action and Christian Aid

Workshop 4 :

Led by Shared Interest and Rathbone Greenbank
